‘Spiegelkogel over Ramolhaus’ / Oil on Canvas / 100 x 150cm / 2020 / This very attractive mountain is the Spiegelkogel, if you follow the ridge down and to the left you can see the Ramolhaus. In 1881 Martin Scheiber, great grandfather of Lukas Scheiber- current owner of the Edelweiss & Gurgl built the Ramolhaus at 3006 metres, the first mountain hut in the Ötztal Valley.

‘Magic in Leogang’ / Oil on canvas / 50 x 70cm / 2019 / January 2019 and Austria had been inundated with snow storms and many ski resorts had to close due to the strong winds and high volumes of snow. Though once the storm clouds past the true beauty of Austria was unveiled! Leogang has some truly stunning forests and when there is fresh snow a little bit of magic takes place.

‘Clouds over Hochgurgl’ / Oil on Canvas / 50 x 70 / 2020 The storm was starting to clear from the mountains of Hochgurgl, but clouds were clinging on where they could. This ridge that descends down from the Schermerspitze appeared through the cloud towering like a giant over the Top Schermerrbahn gondola. In the distance, on the right you can see the tiny silhouette of the iconic Top Mountain Star restaurant.

'Patteriol' on PFD Skis These skis are a collaboration with Rupert Gammond of PFD Skis. Together we wanted to create something a little different, to bring craftsmanship and art together on a canvas that can actually be skied on. This pair is just one set in the Adam Attew/PFD Skis collection of limited edition skis.

‘She-Devil’ / Oil on Canvas / 80 x 40 cm / 2019 / Diavolezza (She-Devil) in Switzerland has many truly stunning high Alpine peaks, this is just one of them. Legend has it that a fairy queen lives in these mountains and many men have gone missing whilst searching for her. I am not surprised that so many fell under her spell the mountains here are beautiful yet perilous.

‘Way to Warth’ / Oil on canvas /120 x 50cm / 2020 / This is part of the KarhornGipfel, a rather attractive mountain that one circumnavigates when travelling from Lech to Warth on skis and via the Auenfeldjet Ski lift.

'Vordere Hasenfluh' / Oil on Canvas / 200x70cm / 2018 / To the west of Zürs, Austria, the mighty Vordere Hasenfluh (2534 metres) towers over the town with its 450m high east facing walls like some kind of mountain fortress. From the top of the Muggengrat Sesselbahn - behind the Hasenfluh, one can follow the Muggengrat Taeli piste and ski all the way around this mountain back to Zürs.

‘Boschweg Guardian’ / Oil on Canvas / 51 x 76cm / 2018 / This particular peak is not a well known mountain, but sometimes the most attractive peaks are not necessarily famous. I painted this particular vista because I just loved the way the morning light struck its winter coat of snow defining its truly stunning shape. This peak can be seen when looking north from St. Christoph and does not seem to have a name; it sits and watches over the Boschweg path so ‘Boschweg Guardian’ seems appropriate.

‘Patteriol’ / Oil on Canvas / 100 x 150cm / 2018 / The Patteriol mountain is in the Verwall range of mountains in the Austrian Tyrol. This particular mountain attracted my eye because of its grand stature; in fact it has been called the "Matterhorn of Verwall" because of its sheer sides and lofty peak. It can be seen towards the south-west when skiing back down to St. Christoph on piste ‘64 St. Christoph’.

‘Omeshom from Ruffikopf’ / Oil on Canvas / 200 x 70cm / 2018 / This is the view of the Omeshom as seen from the top of the Rüfikopf cable car in Lech, Austria. The view of the Omeshom from down in the village of Lech is very different and is the angle that most people are used to; which reminds us of how many different facets and characters mountains have. You can see Madlochspitze and Obere Wildgrubenspitze in the background and the route over to Zug, the neighbouring village.

‘K3 Cat Ski’ / Oil on canvas / 41x75cm / 2013 / This painting is from my time Cat-Skiing at 'K3 Cat Ski' in the Monashee Mountains of British Columbia. Every tree looked like a sculpture with their snowy cloaks. On this particular day I probably skied some of the best powder I have ever experienced in my 40 years of snowsports! (No, I was not skiing with my cat sadly)

‘View from Manali’ / Oil on Canvas / 100x45cm / 2017 / This is the view from the Hôtel Manali in Courchevel. The main peak is ‘La Croix de Verdon’ (2739m). There are many couloirs that can be skied on this mountain from the ‘Grand Couloir’ to the ‘Couloir Coix des Verdon’

‘Piz Morteratsch’/ Oil on Canvas / 76x51cm / 2016 / Helicopters, I love them! Especially when it comes to seeing the mountains from a different perspective. This particular peak (3,751m) is in the Engadin region of Switzerland, just over from St. Moritz.

‘Beyond the Cabins’ / Watercolour & Ink on Paper / 40x40cm / 2003 / This painting is from Swedish Lapland where I learnt Arctic bushcraft with Ray Mears. This depicts a Sami Lavvu camp of the type that have been used for thousands of years to house the Sami reindeer herders as they travel through Lapland.

‘Night & Day’ / Oil on Canvas / 111x54cm / 2004 / The painting is of a secret location in British Columbia, Canada. The type of landscape that inspires me to explore and ski-tour. The mysterious thing about this painting is that depending on the type of light shining on it, the painting changes from looking like a bright sunny day to a moonlit night!

'Under a Blanket‘ / Oil on canvas / 41x80cm / 2005 / This was inspired from a bad weather day of skiing in Les Gets in the Rhône-Alpes region in south-eastern France. The clouds came in whilst the sun battled on trying to burn its way through the cloud which producing this ethereal atmospheric light.

'Storm Subsides' / Oil on Canvas / 2004 / As the name says, the storm subsided and the dark clouds started to clear leaving a beautiful blanket of fresh, crisp snow. The new light on the fresh snow was just magical. This painting is from Les Gets in the Rhône-Alpes region in south-eastern France.

'End of Day' / Watercolour on Paper / 2003 / The mountains of Val d'isere, tipped with the last of the suns rays as it slowly gives way to night over the Alps.

'River Kalix' / Watercolour & Ink on Paper / 2003 / This painting is from my trip to Swedish Lapland to learn Arctic bushcraft/survival with Ray Mears of Woodlore. The view is from the river bank looking over the frozen river Kalix, whilst the tracks on the river are from the Sami Skidoos and the reindeer herds as they travel towards the Norwegian mountains.

'River Kalix Skidoo' / Watercolour & Ink on Paper / 2003 / This painting is from my trip to Swedish Lapland to learn Arctic bushcraft/survival with Ray Mears of Woodlore. There are two ways to travel along the river Kalix at this time of year, by either skis or Skidoo.

‘Forest of Possibility’ / Watercolour & Ink on Paper / 67x22cm / 2003 / This forest on the edge of the frozen River Kalix in Swedish Lapland can mean different things to different people. To many it is a dangerous wilderness to be wary of, but to the Sami and those with the knowledge of its hidden wonders it represents an endless supply of materials, a hunting ground, shelter and home.
